4 More of the Best Toothpastes for Canker Sores

A while back, I wrote a post listing the 4 Best Toothpastes for Canker Sores.

The toothpastes on the list were selected for several reasons, most notably their lack of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a chemical ingredient in most toothpastes that many believe is one of the causes of canker sores.

Well, since then I’ve run across several other toothpaste options worth trying, so here’s a new list of 4 more of the best toothpastes for canker sores.  Give them a try and see if it helps you!

4 More of the Best Toothpastes for Canker Sores

1. JASON Powersmile

Jason-Powersmile - one of the best toothpastes for canker sores

One of the biggest problems I’ve found with non-SLS toothpastes is that they don’t foam like the normal toothpastes you’re used to. On the surface it’s not a big deal really – just because something is the way you’re used to doesn’t make it right. On the other hand, sometimes it feels like you’re brushing your teeth with sand mixed in Jell-o. JASON Powersmile is a nice antidote to that. It’s a minty concoction that foams like the toothpastes you’re used to – with no SLS.

2. Therabreath Toothpaste

Therabreath - one of the best toothpastes for canker sores

Therabreath, as the name suggests, was originally created to fight bad breath, and as their website implies, tonsil stones (if you don’t know what tonsil stones are, CLICK HERE to see a video that might make you thankful for your canker sores – and don’t eat while watching it). The resulting toothpaste was made without using SLS, which means this little tube could both work wonders both for your breath and be one of the best toothpastes for canker sores.

3. XyliWhite

xyliwhite - one of the best toothpastes for canker sores

Browse the aisles of any vitamin store and you’ll see a million and a half orange bottles of every vitamin you can imagine, all with the NOW logo stamped on them. As part of their lineup, NOW has introduced XyliWhite, an all-natural toothpaste that substitutes xylitol, a natural sugar substitute, for SLS. They’ve also infused the mix with silica and sodium bicarbonates to take the place of flouride and to promote whitening. If you’re not just trying to prevent canker sores, but also always looking for safe, natural healthcare solutions, this might be the toothpaste for you.

4. Verve Ultra

Verve ultra - one of the best toothpastes for canker sores

Here’s a toothpaste that goes the extra mile specifically for canker sore sufferers. Verve Ultra’s formula not only leaves out the dastardly SLS, they’ve infused their toothpaste with antioxidants and vitamin E to help your body’s healing process – meaning the daily abrasions and scrapes that so often turn into canker sores can possibly be healed faster. Meaning fewer canker sores. And, it’s got fluoride in it for stronger teeth, so you’re not losing out in that department. Plus, they’re offering an introductory free tube on their website.  So it sounds like you’ve got nothing to lose.

So, if you get canker sores and believe you’re sensitive to sodium lauryl sulfate, it’s worth a shot to check out these and the previous toothpastes I’ve mentioned and see if it makes a difference. If nothing else, you’ll have a healthy alternative to the chemicals found everywhere else, and if you’re lucky, you may find yourself with a lot fewer canker sores.

By the way, you can find these and many, many more canker sore products in my comprehensive guide, No Pain, Your Gain: The Complete Guide to Canker Sore Treatments, available right here on the website.
